and while we're on the topic

(or not)

closure on the hurricane situation:

Funny how my DMV brother, who supposedly gave Shebitch money for a divorce, didn't think to call.

Funny how Priest brother didn't think to call.

Ahhhhh family.

day 766

WTF???!!!

Ok, so The Line is off limits, 3 days and still full of downed trees. Been doing 86th ave, cool. Get my run in, a bit of a break as there aren't hills, but still get my miles.

But..when earth goes juuust a smidge off its axis, it all hits the fan. Such is this case.

On the plus side: it's nice to get a break. Knees don't throb, as much.

On the other side: you can handle probs @ home, you can deal w/probs on the job, but both???

Yesterday, one of my peeps goes nuts and actually has the balls to slam a door, and indicate "yep, I slammed it." He's now officially off the grid. Treated him well, he's been off for 2 weeks in May, 2 in July, and starting tomorrow-3 weeks. WTF??? And HE has the balls to get angry that myself and the Nurse Administrator were discussing his time off?????

Last night Stoney goes to the gym (yay!!!), comes home, does his sullen emo teen routine: "I don't wanna talk." FUCK HIM!!!! Would YOU have EVER thought of saying that to YOUR parents????

I wake up this am, of course he's still up, asks for $5. I walked out of the house indicating "NOW you wanna talk???"

WTF??????

What am I a fucking doormat???

Fuck that.

So, thank GOD for running. You can lace 'em up anywhere, though there IS no place like home. Miss my Line.

day 765

ok, getting used to this, NOT a good thing!

Went to AP yesterday during-gasp-DAYLIGHT!!!!! to do a visual on the conditions. No shit, tree crews are more concerned with residential neighborhoods, don't blame 'em, though I WAS a bit disappointed. So, like a junkie on methadone, I used 86th ave. Felt good, was nice to revisit old haunts, but weird. Miss Pret and miss AP.

Hopefully manana will be clear!

day 764

wow!!!

Good to be flexible.

Re: Irene. LOTS of stuff. Electricity off, then on, thank God not for too long off. @ one point, Stoney and I in the vehicle, driving around to find a hotel-hey, it WAS Sunday night, which is HBO night. No room at any Inn, so, dropped him off @ a friends house, and I headed home. 20 minutes later, power. Too late for Boardwalk, but cool for everything else. Whew!!!

Frankly, got lucky. The storm could'a been alot worse. Tree DID fall, but away from the house. One broken window, one broken gate. Not bad.

This am, actually tried The Line, but WAY too many fallen trees. Hadda make do with 86th. Hey, The Streak continues!!!!!

(REALLY weird seeing dark 7-11's).

...though seeing Edgar on his stoop, a la "typical Puerto-Rican in the hood during a blackout," was too funny!

Sunday, August 28, 2011

day 763

lions and tiger and bears!!!!!

Ok, awoke @ 4:40, exactly one minute before the power went out. Ok, kind'a to be expected.

Odd, everything on Broadway dark, even the doughnut shop...but...BUT...7-11!!!!!!!!!!! Never fails. Their credit card machine wasn't working, but all else ok. Yay!!!

Getting to the job was tricky, easier than a blizzard, but tricky. Took the L.I.E. knowing the Northern State floods instantly, and with commerce (trucking) relying on the L.I.E, it'd be functional.

On Rt.107, lots of trees down, got onto the expressway, few driving. @ one point, doing 55, vehicle was stopped by a deeeep laaaaarge flood zone. I'm talkin' it was like the vehicle had a giant hand grab it and stop it. Wow. I was shaking for two minutes.

Got to the job, a psycho appeared to do the morning meeting!!! You know he was nuts as a)he was wearing a hospital bracelet and b)he walked to get here.

Laced 'em up, went for a run, for the SOLE reason of saying I did it. Fool that I am.

Called the house, tree fell in the back, fortunately, away from the house, whew!!!

Saturday, August 27, 2011

day 762

whew!!!!!!!

Ok, so, since this weekend seems to be one problem after another re: "How badly do you REALLY wanna run???" cancelled races, etc...actually got my run in. YESSSSS. That was heaven. Humid as a mother though. And, since today's race was a 5k, got MORE miles than actually designed. Did ok!

Now, work begins! What a pain this hurricane is. So much for getting a solid day off. Too many e mails, too many phone calls. But, good to know the kiddies are taking care of business.

Tomorrow? Whothefuck knows? Let's get through today. SOMETHING'S gonna hit the fan-when MTA kills its services effective 12 noon, it's gonna be rough.

We'll see.

Friday, August 26, 2011

day 761

unbelieveable

Shebitch has NO clue!!! Comes back from wherever It was, asking IF we were gonna get hit by the hurricane? Now, let that sink in. Fucking moron. And when told It was living in a bubble: "Things I can't control..." what fucking denial. REALLY fucking clueless.

Today was odd. Facebooked by my College brotherfromanothermother. Amazing. He WAS as right wing as you can get, now, shall we say his first name is Yusuf. He's Muslim. Amazing. Helluva a guy, always knew that Reagan shit would pass. He and HIS main peep are both amazed I'm alive. :).

So, there I am in NYC this am, 10am get a call from Albany re: the hurricane and prep. FUCK! Can't get a goddamned day off!!!!! We had a conference call with O.E.M. and the Agency suits. So, there I was in front of NYRR for an hour on a conference call. FUCK ME!!! If only they'd just leave us the fuck alone.

Went into nyc to get my Bronx Half shirt and chip, race cancelled. So, paid to do the Harlem 5k, cancelled. The good news: Counts as one of the four halves needed to get into the nyc half. Good.

What a strange day.

Thursday, August 25, 2011

day 760

grrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!

Ok, I give Stoney $$$, how does he repay me?

Come home yesterday, he's off on a tear about my kicking him outta the den. What happened? The den's my mancave, as the only functional room in the house, of course he sets up there. Now let that sink in...he sleeps in my bed after I leave, uses my stuff, half the time wears my stuff, and now he's in my mancave? Why? His room is a disaster. See pics below. Now, rewind the tape. Shebitch was always raging that It was gonna put a washer/dryer in there (psycho!!!!!! laundry in a den?), so of course, he moves in. FUCK ME! When I tell him he's gotta AT LEAST vacuum, he goes off on a teenage rage. @ that point I blew. Of course in the midst of this It walks in and gangs up on me. FUCK ME. Topping it off, he asks for a ride to some party tonight!!!!!

So, St.Francis + this am, 10 total. Nice and clear, humid though. Ran half the run with one of the Dim Sum peeps, nice pace. Kept each other going until The Tree.

Wednesday, August 24, 2011

day 759

gotta love Facebook!

My College peeps are hooking up!!!!

Two of my main running buds were asking if anyone'd seen or heard about me. Nice to be remembered. One compared my fate to D-Day from Animal House, the other Nicholas Cage in Leaving Las Vegas. Lol. Wow, did some damage in College n'est pas?

Isn't it amazing how you can never escape your past, and I wouldn't want to either!

St.Francis this am, cool, REALLY a lovely morning.

Tuesday, August 23, 2011

day 758

(can't believe it's been so long, well over 2 years)

BEAUTIFUL morning, 'round 65 degs. Yummmmmm. Almost tempted to wear a shirt, but...nahhhhhh.

Was SO nice almost slept in. Felt delightful going to bed NOT sweaty. Woke up to cool temps (you know it was humid/sticky when you need a fan in front of you just to consume your morning coffee).

Got home yesterday, empty house. THAT was nice-Shebitch out God knows where, Stoney out with his friends-finally off his ass. Good.

STILL can't believe how the pendulum has swung to the point at which I can actually go home and...read a book. You know, that shit you take for granted? Really nice!!!

St.Francis this am. Like I said, almost slept in, but we know I'm not wired that way. Was up so early I caught my Dim Sum peeps near St.Francis doing their pre-run stretches.

Monday, August 22, 2011

day 757

THAT'S what I'm talkin' about!!!

REALLY nice morning! Last evening, humid, sticky, rainy. This am, much more comfortable.

Was actually pondering going longer, but don't lets get crazy. Gotta put in a day on the job.

Really a surprising weekend. Shebitch has been behaving. Wassup with that? Saturday I came home, did the lawn, took Stoney to see Fright Night, and chillaxed. Sunday, did Alley Pond then went home to chill. Actually hung on the couch and (gasp) read a book! When was the last time I could do THAT? Actually was a peaceful weekend. Lovely.

How great was it to NOT have to do yet another "lost weekend?" Sooooo nice to NOT have to avoid my home. Was actually refreshing to hit the IFC Saturday (hadda head into Bleeker Bob's to get some cd's, so hadda check the flix) and NOT go to Whole Foods after to eat. Imagine that, head home to eat and chill! SO nice.

Got a post from Rob re: the Dirty Sock Run. Still glad I didn't do it, but nice to be missed.

Sunday, August 21, 2011

day 756

and the day hasn't even started yet!

There are 2 races today i used to do: Ellen's Run-a 5k in the Hamptons, and the Dirty Sock 10k in Babylon. Re: Ellen's: was alot of fun, that's where I met Kelsey Grammar, but, too fucking far for a 5k. Re: Dirty Sock Run, last year I got royally pissed that they seemed to treat their volunteers better than the runners, so I swore it off. Also, with Alley Pond, who needs a 10k?

So, got my St.Francis in, did well. Saw the Renegades and a few other usual suspects, my morning peeps. Again, some College Pointers were there. Nice.

Now, I can chill all day. HBO tonight: Boardwalk, True Blood, Entourage. Rest up kiddies!

(yes, fighting the urge to head into Manhattan)

Saturday, August 20, 2011

day 755

:) !!!!!!!

Ok, FINALLY, this am it was nice. Laced 'em up, headed to The Park. It was a refreshment run, so fully expected to see Pret.

Did the St.Francis route, big tree after the 5m mark, nice break coming back. One of my am usual suspects tapped his wrist as in "you're late," and another-a LI Marathoner, similarly slept in. Wonderful to see 'em. Really, when you're a runner, you have friends you didn't know you had.

'Bout one mile from St.Francis coming back, up The Hill, I'm actually verbally whining, who do I see? Michelle! I recognized her by her tights. She's a month from retirement and STILL a babe! Always (I think she forgets she tells me) says she's "getting back into shape." Like she ever let herself go? Sounds like Pret, bitches about her weight yet still has an amazing body.

So I see my Jesus freak usual suspect, my LI Marathoner, Michelle, then Carlos from College Point!!!!! Whatthefuck? Was this "All roads lead to Alley Pond" day? THEN, Pret. THEN Chris. Told her Pret was 2 miles ahead.

What a lovely run! All this knowing my Alley Pond peeps were ready to start their run (they run too damned late).

Then, off, again, to nyc. Hadda pick up some cd's @ Bleeker Bob's. Of course checked what was playing @ the IFC, caught a flick (there's ALWAYS something playing), they closed off the street for a street fair. Bought some "3 for $5 tank tops," then headed home.

Stopney? Still sleeping. When I left @ 6am he was still awake. Finally woke up @ 4 pm. Rock star!!!

Friday, August 19, 2011

day 754

:)

You DO get what you pay for, but....

started yesterday ok, got my miles in, worked half a day, then off to Brooklyn to see Cheap Trick. They have a series of major concerts there, every week, for the summer. Previously Joan Jett, Aretha, The Monkees, Queen Latifah, you get it. To close out the series: Cheap Trick! Cool eh? Technically free, if you bring a beach chair to sit in the seond section of the orchestra (it's really a parking lot, no raised seating, all flat). The first half of the orchestra is folding chairs, thus, for "chair rental" you pay a $5 fee. Still an amazing deal.

got there @ 3 pm, passed the Coney Island Boardwalk, the concert site is right next to MCU Park. So you have Coney island, the baseball stadium then the concert area. Nice. (iy's right by the old steeplechase). As I'm trying to find the venue, Cheap Trick was doing their soundcheck!!! So, line up, there's bathrooms on the boardwalk, everyone on line is cool, the opening act pulls up to disembark. Mickey Leigh (Joey Ramone's brother!!!!!). WAY cool. Chatted up the crowd for a bit, then entered. Very nice guy. We got to hear HIS soundcheck (the only time he got on stage, more later).

6pm, they let us in, SECOND ROW!!!!! Right in front!!!!! Marty Markowitz takes the stage (short lil' fucker!) to promise some political shit, says rain is in the forecast, but they'll wait it out and we'll get the show.

Well, good thing I packed a poncho AND um-br-ella (eh eh eh eh). It POURED for an hour, by 9 pm, finally, they were ready, dismantled the opening acts' gear (sucked, wanted to see him, but @ this point, even the diehards were discussing leaving). Me, I'm there hunkered down like a smurf. Thank GOD it was by the boardwalk-nice breezes, almost felt like you should'a worn jeans. Why is this important? Under a poncho, rain and heat=yukkk. But no, comfortable actually.

Hit the port-o-san, scoped out the merch table (lonely chick working it, this crowd was there for a free show, not to spend), they actually had Cheap Trick 8 Tracks!!!!! I LOVE this band.), then back to my seat. Hung with our shared experience, "we're all getting rained on" friends, swapped concert stories. Alot like running a marathon, waiting @ Wadsworth, suddenly you're buds with the peeps left and right.

(a cool note: if you hadda pee, the peeps in line watched your bag, same in the seats. @ msg, your shit would be G-O-N-E).

By 9:15, they were mopping the stage, light went down and CHEAP FUCKING TRICK!!!!! They ROCKED. Rick is truly a performer who loves what he does, gave 100% to the crowd. THEN, word came, they were getting pulled off stage. if you turned around, you saw an AMAZING light show-lightening over the water. the union pussies pulled the plug. Rick was VERY apologetic, I mean VERY. But hey, you DO get what you pay for, and for a little less than an hour, it was an amazing show. REALLY glad I stayed. Was odd, heading back to the F train, passing MCU park, a game was in progress, and Nathans-where I first had frog legs so long ago (thanks yet again Maman.)

Got home @ a ridiculous hour, got the 11:42 outta Penn, yuuuuch, but hey, quite a night.

God bless Cheap Trick!!!!!

Thursday, August 18, 2011

day 753

pulled it off!

With the tough meteorological week, got lucky this am. Got my miles in, got to the unit, THEN the rain started. Whew!!!

Not a moment too soon, needed it! Remember the second floor situation? As in: leak from the bathroom, no access to it due to Shebitch's hoarding? Finally a chunk of something fell, It turned the water off. Finally. STILL wouldn't call a plumber, yet @ 9:30, took Stoney out to blow $100 on sneakers. Amazing. Utterly amazing. Not just for the time (who the FUCK leaves @ 9:30 PM to shop???), but for the cost. Oh, it gets better, 10:40pm decides to cook. Yes kiddies, @ Toxichouse, up is down, night is day.

Thank GOD for running.

Tonight-if the rains hold out, CHEAP TRICK!!!!!

Wednesday, August 17, 2011

day 752

funny, after a run, nothing else really matters

none of the bullshit detritus that seems a nuisance, none of the petty crap. Nice.

Stoney busy being Stoney. Wanted to catch a flick with him yesterday, since it's Welfare Wednesdays ($6), he doesn't wanna. Of course my attitude: we're fools to pass up a deal. Fuck it. So, we go today and pay double. Moron. Point is, we're doing something together. Add to this, he actually got off his ass and went to the gym. Nice. Of course, it's the first time in 2 weeks, but hey, beats bailing him out.

Finally an actual 12 hour period without rain...and...what's that word...SUN! 'Bout time. Still, lucky to only have missed one day.

Tuesday, August 16, 2011

day 751

The streak lives!!!!!

After taking Sunday off, back to 2 consecutive days. And not a moment too soon! Yesterday, AS SOON AS I finished, the rain began anew. Same thing this am. Thanks God!!!

AND, to add to it, was tempted to do the Brentwood race last night, but the days of 5k's are winding down-need more distance-and running after work SUCKS! Again, if you can run after work, you didn't work.

More motivation: one of the usual suspects died. Bob Lasky, who frankly sometimes got on my nerves-once he got your ear he wouldn't shut up, died. I felt a kindred spirit when I was @ The Mall heading to a movie, he was sitting there in the food court. His wife died, he was alone, was seeking the company of humanity, however distant. Nice guy. Hope he's happy.

Monday, August 15, 2011

day 750

wtf???

Still smarting from the wannabe NYPD bringing Stoney home, exacerbated by Shebitch evading any parenting, THEN It's out ALL DAY Sunday-from am to 9pm. You'd THINK the bitch would do SOME parenting, but alas, that's why Dr.Evil is here.

As if that wasn't crappy enough, RAIN prevents a run the next am. SHIT. And no, ellip wouldn't cut it. So, bounced off the walls all day, while attempting to enjoy the house-upside of Shebitch being totally evasive of any parenting. So, took Stoney to the movies. THAT'S where things started improving.

Someone pulled a fire alarm, hadda evac, so we saw the movie AND got passes to another. Cool!!!!! THEN, this am, the rains stopped long enough for me to get my miles in!!!!! Yay!!!!!

Sunday, August 14, 2011

day 749

ok God, YOU win!

Rain had been predicted, was mentally ready to take a rest day (no gym, no crosstraining), but it still hurts. Was HOPING there'd be a gap in the rain, but no. Actually drove to AP, 3 peeps were there to walk with um-br-ella's (eh eh eh eh), but alas, no run. S'ok. Knees need a break.

Mentally? NEEDED a run.

Re: letting God be God. Last night had been tempted to see Steve Miller @ Westbury. But, 1)he's booooooooring-just stands there and plays and 2)didn't need to spend $100+ to be bored and have knee pain. So, stayed in. Good thing I did.

9:30, dozing off, knock on thr door. No one EVER knocks on our door, except Stoney's peeps. It was the cops!!!!! Turns out he hooked up with his peeps, witnessed a fight, and wised off to a cop "nice shorts." So, there he sat in the back of the police car.

Again, Shebitch was, naturally, nowhere to be found, so the parenting fell to me. I, of course, thanked the cops for not arresting him (wouldn't bail him out, let him pay the price for stupidity), but knew this behavior was out of character. Turns out, he wised off to a bicycle cop (pussy cop) "nice shorts," the cop, of course, took offense, and there he sat in the cruiser.

Now, the best part, Shebitch comes in, after this is resolved, I try explaining what had transpired, It can't even stand still long enough to hear what'd happened!!!!! It's clearly in a manic stage, bouncing from one place to another.

And you wonder why I needed to run?

even better, imagine if I'd gone to the concert????

And, again, God is God. Who calls as I'm waiting out (unsuccessfully) the rain??? Brotherfromanothermother. With the trouble HIS sons have had, the perfect person to speak with.

Thanks God.

Saturday, August 13, 2011

day 748

Check!

Was tempted to do one of 2 5k's this am, but, rain predicted for manan, so I figured I needed to get the miles in. Glad i did. IF The Streak gets broken, it'll have ended on an up note.

THAT was the good news.

The bad news: as I'm headed home ('round 8am) brotherfromanothermother called, he was @ one of the 5k's. DAYUM!!!!! He pretty much doesn't race anymore (doesn't need to, he's got a HAPPY marriage), and he picks THIS one to do. DAYUM! He got one up on me. Though I'm STILL glad I did AP. Saw Chris, my other usual suspects (one saying "nice to see you in daylight."). Funny, on weekends, we do the same shit, just 2 hours later.

Then, off to nyc. On a mission to collect as many concert cd's as possible. LOVE Manhattan!!!!!

Friday, August 12, 2011

day 747

did it!!!

Made it through another week. This is a VERY good thing, as I was actually able to enjoy my home. Later today It returns, as does the psychosis. Until then, counting my blessings!

Stuck to the same schedule, despite having the day off. St.Francis, then home. THAT'S the wrinkle. Rather than showering @ the gym after, was able to actually look forward to heading home, rather than put it off as long as possible, then dread returning. Feels odd NOT heading to nyc today, as is my avoidance custom. GREAT to actually be able to chillax, read a book, and hang wit' mah dawg. Bless him. Unconditional love.

Thursday, August 11, 2011

day 746

soooooooooooooo close!

ANOTHER great night, me n'y dawg!!! So lovely to enter the house, he's wagging his tail so hard you think his butt's gonna fall off. Feed him, walk him, then chillax. Yummmmmmmm.

The Line this am, again, The Streak lives!!! Manana, dunno. There's rain predicted from this evening through manana am. We'll see.

A good week.

Wednesday, August 10, 2011

day 745

:)

I could(almost)get used to this!

Peace and quiet on the homefront, exactly what normal people work for. Unfortunately, comes @ a cost-missing my son. He makes all the crap worth it.

Almost broke the streak, but no, we're ok. Last night, rain. Never a good thing. But that alone isn't a prob. As long as you know you're in a safe environment, no biggie. Rain + psychobitch=hell. So, with half the equation gone, no biggie. Caught a flick (welfare Tuesdays @ the multiplex), then home. Stopped before the flick to check on Hulk.

By the time I got home after the movie, the rain had pretty much ceased. To the point that the Mets game wasn't postponed. Nice.

Thus, woke, up, outta bed (yes, hadda convince myself that now was NOT the time to be a slacker, though sleeping in WAS tempting). Laced 'em up, out to The Line. YAY!!!!!

Life is good.

Tuesday, August 9, 2011

day 744

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Soooooo nice to see how YOU people live. Go to work, eat, go home, hang, rest, feed the dog. Niiiice. No: screaming, cursing, psychotic rage, sullen/ungrateful/spoiled teenager. Soooo nice. REALLY miss the lil' bastard, but if It were to fall off the face of the earth immediately, I wouldn't show an iota of concern.

Now, remember, no heat in winter, so conversely, no a/c in summer. Woke up from a nap (never get those with Shebitch in house) drenched in sweat, didn't mind a bit. Sooooo nice to have a home.

Had one of those "multitasker Mondays." In my bidness, Monday is always rough, but this week was unusual. With Shebitch out, ALL the home stuff was in my lap. Add to that the work @ work, and the drama @ work, and it was quite a day. But, again, if I can run, I'm ok.

The line again this am. Again, the streak continues. This is more important than ever because leaving home is actually a struggle. Don't have to escape anything! REALLY lovely.

So, rain this eve into manana. Not to worry, The Streak will continue-5k tomorrow night. By then the rain is predicted to have ceased.

Monday, August 8, 2011

day 743

peace, ahhhhhhhhhhhh

The bad news: woke up to an empty house, 'cept for Hulk.

The good news: It's away for the week.

Last night It was actually nice. of course, there was a plan. Next thing, I hear commotion/doors slamming 'round 11 (bedroom is over the front door). Woke up, they'd gone! Nice to bid adieu in case anything goes awry. This is typical. Can you imagine if that was the last time I'd seen them? GREAT "family" dynamic.

It IS nice to know my things won't be the object of psychotic behavior. NiceR still to know your belongings will be where you left them. I could get used to this.

Sucks that Stoney's away. But, he needs to be with his brotherfromanothermother, who will be there as well.

Can you imagine going away, not even a goodbye?

Sunday, August 7, 2011

day 742

d'OH!

Ok. Yesterday, shebitch total meltdown. So, parked in the driveway, to make a clean escape this am. At least that was the plan. Got my stuff outta the vehicle, headed to the train (LIRR to NYC), when I got that "did I forget something?" feeling (turns out it was my brain, as you'll see). Thought I locked myself outta the vehicle. Broke the window to get access-turns out the key was in my gym bag. Sucks to have to balance so much. But ok, STILL made my train.

Did the run. Always a good one. This am was a bit more of a challenge as I hadda break the window, hurry to the train, AND rain. FUCK!!!!! Somehow though, as it always does, everything worked out. The rain stopped moments before race time.

This one is special. Curtis is WAY cool, and it IS the Brooklyn Bridge. Translation: your time WILL suck, but it's ok. Love that guy, one of us. Whatever "it" is, he gets it.

Rob, Helen, Gillian, and Deb were there. Quantum used to score it, now they can't even be bothered running it. Lots of Long Island usual suspects. Really fun.

Hung in nyc, then back to Toxichouse.

Why was shebitch on a tear. It's yearly thing. It goes to it's groupie's upstate for a week, so to rationalize a vacation from nothing, has to cause a fuss.

Pix below.

Saturday, August 6, 2011

day 741

rain GRRRRRRR!

Today,ok. turning cloudy, but so far so good. Got my run in early, meaning, 2 hours after when I usually start (it IS the weekend). The streak lives!!!

Lots of un-usual suspects. My usual walkers, then, Korean RRC peeps by the friggin' busload! They're discovering what we all know, what a treasure AP is!

Also, my Jamaican/Renegade runners.

The downside: Toxichouse. Shebitch stole my razors, I made the mistake of asking, and rage ensued. Fuck!!! I KNEW Bitch stole them, but It can't be allowed to get away with it. Started raging about how my brothers would testify against me.....really heartwarming stuff. Healthy, well adjusted bitch.

Problem with running: you, eventually, have to stop.

So, again, headed off to NYC. Might as well have stayed overnight, 5k manana, but gotta be @ Toxichouse for fear of what It'd do. Headed to The Village to hang with the rest of the freaks, always felt @ home there, and do some shopping. Damn me! Got a HELLUVA Neil boxed set, a couple'a hundred $$ later. KNEW I shouldn't have worn my glasses (see more clearly the REAL goodies behind the counter).

day 740

getting used to this!

Working a 4 day week def has its benefits!!! Now, of course we all know I'm there for way too many hours, but still, it IS nice to have the illusion of freedom!

And again, the streak continues! Gotta. Sunday is a 5k, need to pack in the miles while I can. ;)

Thursday, August 4, 2011

day 739

!!!!!

Happy Friday (for me). Made it-almost-through the week. Of course there's TONS of loose ends, always are in my bidness.

In my position, gotta get permission for moonlighting gigs, got the call from my boss yesterday re: "wtf???" She said she'd never gotten a request like the one I submitted. We shared a BIG laugh. Still pinching myself, imagine me, a model? Mr."man boobs," Mr.Fat since day 1. Nice to be me for this minute.

Last evening, annoying rain. This am, got my run in. NIIIICE. Again kiddies, the streak continues.

Wednesday, August 3, 2011

day 738

got "yanged"

Ok, felt great after hitting the gym with Stoney, then all the air got let outta my baloon.

He'd said he wanted to see Cowboys vs Aliens, went ahead of time to get the tix, get home, he doesn't wanna go. Wants to stay in. Fuck me. Really good flick, but hurt that he turned pussy on me.

St.Francis this am, upper 70's, niiice.

Tuesday, August 2, 2011

day 737

:)!!!!!

Had one of those rare evenings when nothing went wrong-other than Shebitch drawing more breaths.

Stoney asked for a lift to the gym, AND asked if I wanted to tag along. YESSS!!!!! One of those RARE moments when a teen bonds. He did weights, I did the ellip. Of course I paid for it this am, not as good a run as I could've, but, with doing the double yesterday.....

He's funny. You forget what it was like when you started out. He was amazed I only drank half a bottle of water. He'd refilled his container 2x. I told him about the need to hydrate, what amounts, and though gatorade beats soda, unless you're running distance-or marathon exercising, for a mere 45 mins it ain't no 'ting.

REALLY a good evening, then It came home. Oh well.

Beautiful morning today, after all the hail yesterday, surprised.

day 736

missed it by THIS much!

Good news: 5 minutes better than last year!!!!! Checked my numbers of the Queens half vs. last year. Last year: 2:22, this year, 2:17. YAY!!!!! I don't suck as much!

Shebitch out all day yesterday, Stoney totally alone. Nice summer eh? When It comes home "did you put a nail in my tire?" It got (another) flat. My answer "why would I waste a nail?" Bitch. Doesn't life a fucking finger all weekend.

And, back to the Queens Half, Warwick was there too! Gave him a "welcome back to Queens" greeting (as I passed him).

The black girl who runs with the Dim Sum peeps was impressed that I ran/trudged the day after Queens. With my times, not really impressive at all. If I rested properly I'd do well. It ain't about speed (obviously).

Actually left Toxichouse 30 minutes later than usual (True Blood), was tempted to rest...but.....
